We are suckers for a good pastry. But French pastries? Next level. So when we kept hearing everyone rave about Bleu Sucre, a French bakery on Galveston Island, we knew we had to see what the hype was about.
First tip: get there early. This Galveston Island bakery sells out fast, especially on weekends, and once they're out, they're out.
When we walked in, the smell alone nearly did us in. Buttery, warm, and so good that by the time we got to the counter, we basically told them we wanted one of everything. Almost $100 later, we walked out with two full bags of fresh bread and pastries.

Did we have anything left over? Absolutely not. We ate every single bite.
Our MVP was a Nutella croissant twist that might be one of the best pastries we've ever had in Galveston. We also tried the lemon tart, a raspberry pistachio tart, ham sandwiches, and a fresh baguette, because you can't leave a French bakery empty-handed. They also serve coffee and espresso drinks, so this spot works just as well for a full breakfast as it does for a quick pastry run.

There are a few tables if you want to eat in, but we took ours to go and drove about 5 miles an hour the whole way home. We had precious cargo in the car.
If you're looking for the best French bakery in Galveston, TX, do yourself a favor and stop into Bleu Sucre. It's every bit as good as everyone says.
